How Anyone Can Make Money Online with Affiliate Marketing

Posted by ToonChooi

Despite the fact that there are so many people out there trying, it is still possible to make money on the internet. While there is definitely a lot of competition out there, it’s not so much that you can’t stand out and succeed.  One of the greatest advantages of the vastness of the internet is that there’s enough room out there for all of us.

Another common misconception is that you need to already be experienced in online business if you actually want to start making money.  Think about how ridiculous that is for a second.  Every person who is right now making money online was, at one point, a newbie.  Everybody has to start somewhere.

You just need to make sure that you’re going about it in the right way.  Everybody can make a profit on the internet, but what you choose to start with will decide how long it takes you to start making money.

For me, this meant starting out trying to make money online with affiliate marketing.  When I first decided to try my hand at internet marketing, you name it, I considered it: online retail, surveys, blogging.  I ultimately decided that affiliate marketing was the way to go if I wanted to start to make money right away.

Now, I’m not saying that I made a fortune right from the start, but I felt that, by going with affiliate marketing, I had the biggest chance of running in the black right from the start.  No matter how small my profits were, it was better than losing money!

And I also looked at it from this perspective:  I was gaining more than my small profits; I was gaining experience in how to make money online.

The first big decision I had to make was what kind of niche to focus on. I could either go for what people call a “virgin niche” or a niche that hid not been discovered or exploited, or a popular niche, where there are lots of buyers, but also a lot of competition.  With a virgin niche, I would not have a lot of competition, but there also might not be a lot of potential customers; with a popular niche, I’d have lots of customers, but also lots of other businesses competing for their eyeballs.

After careful consideration, I decided to go for the popular niche.  And I soon began to see results, even with the hundreds or maybe thousands of other affiliate marketers that I was competing against. Because you have to remember that even though there may be thousand of people competing for sales, not all of these sites are created equal.

What I did that helped me to make money with affiliate marketing, even in a popular niche, is that I went in prepared.  I researched and found a system that I knew was proven to help people succeed in affiliate marketing.  I used the system and learned from their experiences which kept me from making a lot of the same mistakes when I was starting out.

There are a lot of systems out there; some work better than others.  Some don’t work at all, and it’s hard to tell the difference sometimes.  So I’ve done the work for you, looking into all of these affiliate marketing guides.  And this is what I’ve found: that there’s only one guide that shows you how to make money online with no previous experience.  The others just show you how they’re making money online (namely, by getting you to buy their guide.)

So, with all the work done for you, what else are you waiting for?  I’ve tried and tested these guides so you don’t have to.  Read my review of what I feel is the best product out there; make all my hard work save you time and money.  Because who doesn’t want to make money online?  Go to PortalFeeder for more information.

Web 2.0 - A General Overview

Posted by ToonChooi

Web 2.0 is generally seen as an area of business which uses the Internet as its platform and utilizes the strengths of the web to exist and expand. In short, the slogan “don’t fight the Internet” aptly describes the functionality of Web 2.0 which builds applications and provides services based on the unique characteristics of the Internet rather than building applications and expecting them to fit around the Internet.

Although the phrase may suggest a newer version of the World Wide Web, it does not actually indicate any changes in the technical specifications, instead it rather points towards the changed way in which end users as well as software developers utilize the power of the web. Web 2.0 thus indicates an enhancement of the World Wide Web with applications such as blogs, wikis, social bookmarking, podcasts and other web application programming interfaces (APIs) providing developments over the earlier read only websites.

Features Of Web 2.0

Earlier websites merely allowed users to retrieve information which had been provided by the owner of the site. But Web 2.0 sites go beyond the mere interactive capabilities of Web 1.0 sites and allow users to build on these interactive features by running entire software applications through a browser. The network or the Internet serves as the platform for computing. Users are allowed to own the data on the Web 2.0 site and they are also encouraged to enhance the data as and when they utilize it. This is in sharp contrast to earlier sites which were limited to viewing and the owner of the site alone possessed the right to change the data. The interface of Web 2.0 sites are generally extremely user friendly and are based on Flex, Ajax or similar media. Many of these sites may also possess social networking aspects.  Members who do not contribute towards the provision of goods and services are not prohibited from sharing in the profits. This may result in certain members abstaining from contributing and enjoying the efforts of others.

Four Levels Of Hierarchy In Web 2.0 applications

The applications involved can be broadly classified into four hierarchies with Level-3 applications at the top of the ladder embodying most of the principles of Web 2.0. These applications exist only on the Internet and become more effective as they are utilized more and more on the Internet. Examples of such applications are Craigslist, Skype and Wikipedia. Level-2 applications are capable of operating offline but are more beneficial while used online. Flickr can be stated as an example for Level-2 applications. Level-1 applications operate offline but gain more features when they are online. Examples are Google Docs & Spreadsheets and iTunes. Level-0 applications work offline as well as online. Yahoo! and Mapquest are examples. Non-web products such as instant messaging and email lie outside the above stated hierarchy.

Frequently Asked Shopping Cart Questions By Website Owners

Posted by ToonChooi

When designing a web presence website owners will run up against many questions concerning their website shopping cart. Gaining answers to frequently asked questions about shopping carts could help head off problems and save time and money.

One of the basic questions asked about the shopping cart is how to use it? You should as a website owner guide your visitor to your shopping cart and have visible instructions both in text and in picture as to how to use the cart. There are several steps to using the cart including product selection, reviewing the cart’s contents, payment into, checking out, and order confirmation.

Each step should include plain and simple instructions for your customer so as not to confuse them and cause them to leave your site without completing the purchase.

Customers will need to know how to remove and edit items as they change their mind about purchasing items. Adding a FAQ (frequently asked questions section) can be helpful in answering any questions about removing or editing items.

Having a shopping cart system that is capable of saving items in the cart for later completion aids the customer in making the purchase at a later date when interruptions happen. This can actually help save the sale. This usually requires a registration.

Shopping carts can also handle subscriptions, free trials and discount coupons.
